FUTURING THE POWER GRID

2023 IEEE PES GT&D, Istanbul kindly invites the submission of proposals for plain talks related to the main themes of the conference. Plain talks are projected to bring easy-to-digest educational opportunities to the interested audience.

Format of the Plain Talks and Plain Talk Proposals

Plain Talks are expected to be half or full-day-long events where the instructor gives a wide spectrum of insight to the participants. Plain Talks should be related to the main theme of the conference – Futuring the Power Grid – and invite diverse topics and applications from societal/academic/industrial viewpoints. Plain Talks should be submitted by the prospective plain talk organizers who may or may not instruct the session. An additional instructor with relevant experience may be pointed out by the organizer to instruct alone or together with the organizer. Plain Talks should not be structured as straightforward presentations, but rather should include hands-on experimentation, experiences, demonstrations, and eye-opening daily examples of general perspectives on the topic. Plain Talk sessions should not be used to present a commercial product, nor be limited to the views of one individual. The goal is a general discussion for the public, mentioning future directions as well as experience and knowledge sharing with the participants. Different approaches including those that involve the audience more efficiently may also be proposed.
